Dossier Prepared for Internal Review — CLASSIFIED
REDACTED STAMP: [O.A.P. / INTERNAL ONLY / RED-CIPHER ACCESS]
Date: February 9, 1947
Prepared by: Agent H. M. Caldwell, Division VII, Office of Anomalous Phenomena
To the authorized reader:
What follows is a compiled dossier of recovered documents, field reports, intercepted letters, and anomalous transmissions concerning two high-priority subjects: Edward Aleister Crowley and Edgar Allan Poe.
While prior files traced their origins, this dossier expands into the consequences. Crowley’s influence has begun to ripple outward. Poe’s presence has destabilized—his writings suggest recursive dislocation. And both figures now appear in records far beyond their supposed eras.
Reports of unusual abilities—unverified but recurring—continue to emerge among children of certain bloodlines or who have been exposed to forbidden texts. This file is part of a broader effort to trace the origin of these abilities and to understand the arcane systems reasserting themselves in our post-war world.
Crowley, long known to us as The Catalyst, exhibits patterns consistent with what we call ‘Reversal Manifestation’—a psychological and spiritual inversion that tends to precede anomalous activation. Poe, long presumed dead, appears in records where he should not, which in itself defies logic and suggests hidden hands at work.
Study each entry carefully. Patterns will emerge. There are gaps. Some documents may have been redacted or lost. But if you read with discernment, you may come to understand why this file has survived every effort at suppression.
This is not just history. It is a warning.

ADDENDUM FROM AGENT CALDWELL — SUPPLEMENTAL MEMO 2
Though this file focuses on the origins of Crowley and Poe, let it be known that the Nazi occult divisions—particularly under Himmler’s Black Sun initiative—have shown repeated interest in recreating the rites described within. Evidence recovered from Castle Wewelsburg confirms attempts to open dreamspace apertures using sigils identical to those recorded in the Black Hollow incident.
Initial results were catastrophic. A village outside Linz collapsed into itself over the course of six minutes. Survivors reported “walls whispering in Latin” and bleeding clocks. Several drawings recovered from the site resemble earlier mirror-gate diagrams attributed to Crowley. One survivor spoke of “stepping behind the veil” and meeting a man with no eyes, who called himself a Host.
The Harrowgate survivors claimed it was Salazar who provided their initial texts.
Which would suggest: he is not just a witness to history. He is one of its engineers.
Be on watch.

Undelivered Letter — Edgar A. Poe to Lenore
Discovered in Poe’s quarters, sealed but never posted. Ink faded, paper fraying. Archivist notes match handwriting to earlier confirmed Poe letters.
Lenore—
I write you from a place that neither casts shadow nor accepts sun. The hours do not count themselves properly here. They drift. They rewind. And I—I feel myself drifting too.
The work is ash. My thoughts circle but do not land. I have tried all keys, all names, all echoes—but the door will not open.
I speak to people whose mouths move in the wrong centuries. I wake with dust in my lungs and the scent of seawater—though I have not seen the coast in weeks. Sometimes, I think I am not of this time and place at all.
I do not belong here. I am out of joint, an echo wearing skin.
I must find help. Someone who understands the veil—not as metaphor, but as threshold. There must be a way to return. Or failing that… to be free of this mortal coil, and back with you.
I will come to you, Lenore. In the end, I will find you. Even if I must break the mirror. Even if I must shatter the veil.
Yours,
E.

Field Note – Agent Caldwell
This letter is one of several artifacts found sealed, misplaced in time. The ink has decayed inconsistently—modern UV analysis suggests it was both written and aged across at least two distinct timelines.
Poe is not writing from the past. He is writing through it. The mirror holds more than just reflection. It holds grief.
